SLU AT Students Inducted into Alpha Eta Allied Health Honor Society


The Saint Louis University chapter of Alpha Eta, the National Scholastic Honor Society for Allied Health Professions, held its annual induction ceremony in the Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Building at Saint Louis University on November 16, 2017.


The Society is named for the Greek letters equivalent to the first letters of Allied Health (AH), which are Alpha Eta.  The purpose of the Society is the promotion and recognition of significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions.

The following SLU AT students were honored in this year's ceremony:
  • Alexander Hubbs - Liberty, Missouri (MAT Class of 2018)
  • Erin Fabbri - Des Plaines, Illinois (MAT Class of 2019)
  • Ryan Frantz - Troy, Missouri (MAT Class of 2019)
  • Chris Mecherle - Bloomington, Illinois (MAT Class of 2019)
  • Margaret (Maggie) Rowell - Lakewood, Ohio (MAT Class of 2019)

SLU AT Students Inducted to National Allied Health Honor Society


The Saint Louis University chapter of Alpha Eta, the National Scholastic Honor Society for Allied Health Professions, held its annual induction ceremony in the Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Building at Saint Louis University on November 2, 2016.

The Society is named for the Greek letters equivalent to the first letters of Allied Health (AH), which are Alpha Eta.  The purpose of the Society is the promotion and recognition of significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions.

The following SLU AT students (MAT Class of 2018) were honored in this year's ceremony:

SLU AT Students and Faculty Member Inducted into Alpha Eta Honor Society


On the night of October 21, 2015, six students and one faculty member from the Saint Louis University Athletic Training Program were inducted into Alpha Eta, the National Allied Health Honor Society.  The induction ceremony took place in the Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Building on the SLU Medical Center Campus.

SLU AT Students and Faculty Inducted to Allied Health Honor Society


On October 29, 2014 the Saint Louis University Doisy College of Health Sciences Chapter of Alpha Eta, the National Allied Health Honor Society, inducted 5 SLU Athletic Training students and 1 Faculty member to the Society.

Alpha Eta recognizes those allied health professionals who have excelled in their field. This recognition is extended to students, alumni, and faculty members. The society promotes both scholarship and fellowship among its members. This commitment to collaboration is reflected in the motto of the society: Together We Serve.

SLU AT Faculty Member and 6 Students Inducted into National Allied Health Honor Society



The Saint Louis University chapter of Alpha Eta, the national allied health honor society, inducted its new 2012 members on October 10, 2012 in the Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Building. To be eligible for Alpha Eta, students and faculty must show a history of excellence in scholarship and service.  The minimum GPA  is 3.5 for undergraduate members and 3.8 for post-baccalaureate/graduate members.

The new inductees were:

  • Sarah Reifsteck, SLU MAT Class of 2013

SLU AT Students Inducted to National Allied Health Honor Society

SLU Athletic Training students Libby Deiters (Breese, IL) and Maggie Meier (St. Louis, MO), both from the MAT Class of 2013, were inducted into the SLU Chapter of Alpha Eta. The ceremony was held on Thursday, October 10, 2011 in the Multipurpose Room of the Allied Health Building at Saint Louis University.

Alpha Eta is the national scholastic honor society for the Allied Health Professions. The society was founded in 1975 and was named for the Greek letters equivalent to the first letters of Allied Health. Its purposes are the promotion and recognition of significant scholarship,leadership, and contributions to the Allied Health Professions. The society's motto is "Together We Serve, " and its colors are light green and white.

Criteria for Induction
Students working toward undergraduate degrees must maintain GPAs of 3.5 or better while enrolled in their professional allied health programs. Graduate students must maintain GPAs of 3.8 or higher while enrolled in their programs. All candidates should show capacity for leadership and achievement in their chosen fields, be recommended by members of Alpha Eta, and approved by the Dean of the College. Faculty candidates must have a minimum of three years experience as educators in their disciplines and also must have significant records of scholarship, leadership, and service to Allied Health education or practice.

SLU Allied Health Honor Society Welcomes New Members

The Saint Louis University chapter of Alpha Eta, the National Scholastic Honor Society for Allied Health Professions, held its annual induction ceremony on November 11, 2010.
The Society is named for the Greek letters equivalent to the first letters of Allied Health (AH), which are Alpha Eta.  The purpose of the Society is the promotion and recognition of significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions.

Dr. Anthony Breitbach, Director of the SLU Athletic Training Education Program, and J.J. Hannigan, Athletic Training Student, were inducted into the Society at this year's ceremony.  Athletic Training Student Emily Monahan was inducted into Alpha Eta last year.
