SLU AT Students Present Scholarly Projects at University-wide Student Research Events

Saint Louis University sponsors several student research events each year.  In 2020, those events were converted to a virtual on-line format with abstracts published in a proceeding book.  SLU Athletic Training students presented a project at each of the events.

Graduate Student Association Research Symposium

The annual SLU Graduate Student Association Research Symposium is held each year during the spring semester and is an interdisciplinary forum open to all SLU graduate students.


SLU AT students Gwyneth Brown and Maria Lingardo (MAT Class of 2020) along with mentors Jonathan Burch ATC (SLU Assistant Athletic Director) and Anthony Breitbach PhD, ATC, FASAHP (SLU AT Program Director) presented: "Key Player on the Team: The Role of The Athletic Trainer in the Assessment and Management of Mitochondrial Disease in an Intercollegiate Athlete".

Senior Legacy Symposium

The Senior Legacy Symposium is SLU's  annual celebration of undergraduate scholarly and creative work. Since 2008, this event has provided a platform for distinguished students from all majors to share their culminating academic achievements with the campus community in the form of research posters, oral presentations, artistic exhibitions, and musical/dramatic performances.

SLU AT Student Katherine Perko (MAT Class of 2021) Honors Capstone Project "Perspectives on Athletic Training in the Performing Arts" along with mentor Anthony Breitbach PhD, ATC, FASAHP (SLU AT Program Director).
